The most related birds to Dogo Onsen is the white egret.

There is a legend that a white egret discovered Dogo Onsen.
In the vicinity there is also a place named Sagi-tani, means “the valley with white egret”
In addition, there is “振鷺閣; Shinro-kaku” with a motif of white egret at the top of the Dogo Onsen Main Building, and it tells us the time three times a day.

We often see white egrets in the water field at the Dogo Park.
